Dentistry For Children
We are very passionate about making sure your child has a great experience at the dentist from a young age. It is important to shape good habits and expectations from a young age so that we can minimise your child having dental issues in the future, as well as reducing any chance of a dental phobia.
It’s very important that from the moment your child’s baby teeth come through at a young age, that parents assist in brushing and flossing their teeth and that they have fun whilst doing it! We often recommend consistent routines every morning and every night, and as your child grows, that they continue to understand the importance of keeping their teeth clean and preventing sugar bugs from getting to them!
We often recommend to see children initially around 12-18 months of age, as this will allow them to familiarise themselves with the dental environment, and for us to instil good habits in them, whilst being able to pick up on any early issues before its too late! Regular dental checkups every 6-12 months (depending on their decay risk) is recommended so that your child grows up with regular dental routines and healthy teeth!
Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
Some children are eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, which is a program that covers approximately $1,158 of general dental treatment over a 2 year period. If you receive government benefits from Family Tax Benefit A, your child will be eligible to receive this scheme. Feel free to provide our reception staff with your medicare number and we can check eligibility over the phone or in person!
